SIAMS

The principal objective of SIAMS inspection is to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of our school as a Church school, and how well the distinctive Christian character and ethos of Flockton CE (C) First School ensures the development and achievement of the whole child or young person.

This is evaluated through four core questions:

  • How well does the school, through its distinctive Christian character, meet the needs of all learners?
  • What is the impact of collective worship on the school community?
  • How effective is the Religious Education? (in VA schools and academies)
  • How effective are the leadership and management of the school as a Church school?

Flockton CE (C) First School was last inspected by SIAMS in March 2016, when we were very proud to be graded as Outstanding.

In their report, SIAMS mentioned the following:

“A hallmark of this school is children’s understanding of its vision statement. For them ‘learning together within a Christian environment’ is second nature and they demonstrate this through their excellent attitudes and behaviour. When asked what difference it makes being in this school, they explain that ‘it gives you an understanding of God and Jesus’. The impact of this understanding is revealed in their relationships. For example, they say that ‘I forgive others because whenever I do anything wrong, I know God will forgive me.’ In the same way, they know that the miner’s lamp symbol that they wear not only shows that they are ‘rooted in the community’ but that ‘it’s to show the light of God and that His light is in our hearts too.’ Christian values are central to school life.”

 Parent View, Dashboard and Performance

Parent View gives you the chance to tell us what you think about your child's school. Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of your child's school, from the quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. We will use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when.

You can access Parent view here: http://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/

The School Data Dashboard provides a snapshot of school performance at Key Stages 1 and 2. The dashboard can be used by school governors and by members of the public to check the performance of the school in which they are interested. The School Data Dashboard complements the Ofsted school inspection report by providing an analysis of school performance over a three-year period.
